How Can I Help?
Like to drive?
PetEx needs transport drivers to escort our precious cargo and we’re willing to train you! We have a van and the fuel expenses are covered! Transports are scheduled nearly every day of the week – so anytime you are available, we would love to have you volunteer your time. Current routes are between Kansas City to Bethany, MO; Joplin, MO; Hays, KS; Omaha, NE; and Wichita, KS. The more volunteer drivers we have, the more transports we can perform and the more lives that can be saved!
Don’t want to drive?
A lot of work goes into preparing for the transports! We set up each pet with a crate, bedding, and name tag to make them comfortable and easily identifiable. The drivers also need assistance with loading our passengers on Transport Day. If you don’t want to drive but are willing to ride along, the drivers would appreciate your help with loading and unloading, organizing paperwork, and fielding calls during the transport. When a transport is complete and the vehicle returns to Kansas City, it needs to be unloaded, the crates need to be cleaned and disinfected, and the bedding needs to be washed. Again, any time of day and any day of the week you are available, we could use your help!
Have some extra space?
Foster homes are an invaluable piece of the rescue and transport puzzle. PetEx needs foster homes to house and care for pets until they can be transported to rescues or find their furr-ever home. We will provide foster training and introductions to your family members, including your other pets to make sure the transition is a smooth one.
Have some spare change?
A week’s worth of Starbucks is a tank of gas for a PetEx transport! If you have any spare change and would like to help by donating, please use Paypal from our Donate page or use the button on this page above the images of dogs we’ve helped re-home and transport.
